Goals of The Midst:  Serving God, Saving Souls, Serving People

                          NEWS FROM THE MIDST

"The Centerpiece" was the title of Jamie's message on April 2. Using John 15:1-11 for most of his message, he talked about Jesus being the center of your life.  He asked, "What is your centerpiece? What is the theme? What is your life centered around?" Jesus should be your driving force, your centerpiece in everything about your life-your marriage, school, and job. Your life should be 100% about Jesus-not 95% Jesus and 5% self. John 15:11 says, These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy may be full." Jamie said that with Christ as your centerpiece, joy would be around you. He talked about John 15:5 specifically which says, "I am the vine, you are the branches.  He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing." As Jamie says, nothing means nothing. He said, stop using Romans 8:28 as a crutch. If your theme is not working out for you, maybe you need to change your centerpiece. All that Jesus did in His physical life on earth was driven by the Spirit of God-Matthew 3:16. The Spirit of God was His centerpiece and His theme was salvation unto all. Everything has to be about Jesus. He has to be your driving force-Luke 23:39-43. Blessing will only come as you are connected to the source of Blessing-John 15:4. If you truly abide in Christ and He is your centerpiece, your prayers will be answered-John15:7. If once you are in the vine, are you always in the vine? No-John 15:6. What is the theme of your life? How is it all playing out? What or who is your centerpiece?

On April 9, The Midst group went bowling and to Cici's Pizza.
